On the surface, many EDI services sound similar. But in reality, there are important distinctions between EDI providers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a nutshell, EDI solutions fall into two categories: full service and managed service. Full service EDI providers deliver more than just EDI technology. They also provide associated staffing resources that customize, optimize and operate your EDI solution. Companies that want to offload the operational details of EDI management should choose a full-service EDI solution.<\/p>\n

Here are seven types of questions to ask a prospective EDI provider so you can make an apples-to-apples comparison:<\/p>\n

1 -Technology: What are the technical capabilities of your solution and how do you deliver core functionality and ensure system uptime?<\/p>\n

2- Trading partner expertise: what trading partners do you already work with and how will you manage any requirement changes from trading partners on my behalf?<\/p>\n

3- Design and configuration: how will you design and configure your EDI solution to ensure it meets my business requirements and the requirements of my trading partners?<\/p>\n

6- Proactive monitoring and analysis: will you proactively monitor your solution and manage errors, or is that something my team will be required to handle?<\/p>\n
